Alegre Corrêa (Passo Fundo/RS) is a self-taught musician with a 40-year career. He began his career in dance bands, but soon began to dedicate himself to composition. In 1988, he moved to Austria, where he consolidated his career playing with great musicians from the World Music, among them Joe Zawinul. Throughout his career, Alegre has won several awards, the most important being: “CD of the year” (Hanskoller Prize – Austria 2002), “Musician of the Year” (Hanskoller Prize – Austria 2003) and,  with Joe Zawinul's group,  the “Grammy Awards” (USA 2009). He has recorded 13 solo albums as a composer, arranger and instrumentalist, in addition to having played with the Hannover Orchestra (ALE), Tonkünstler Orchestra (AUS), Bruknerhaus Orchestra and Tonkünstler Orchestra at the Musikverein in Vienna.
